Case Study: Establishing and Optimising a Global Equity & Bond Fund: A Comprehensive Setup and Ongoing Oversight by Fund HQ

Client: Global Equity & Bond Fund; London-based manager with a Cayman Master/Feeder structure.

Assets Under Management: $12 million at launch, estimated $40m in 12 months

Objective:
Fund HQ was engaged to establish the fund management business and the fund vehicle for a manager with multi-year experience in distressed debt and equities but who required guidance on the setup of the entire operation.

Approach:
Fund HQ led the initiation and integration of all legal, compliance, and service providers for both the fund and the UK manager. This included evaluating and negotiating with alternative providers, managing costs, and overseeing the integration of services.

Ongoing oversight was provided across necessary operations, including audit, tax reporting, insurance, directors, and board meetings, along with ensuring compliance with new regulations.

Outcome:
The fund was fully operational within 5 months. Fund HQ continues to monitor the business with a strong focus on controlling costs and maximising returns. The manager is currently building on a strong track record, preparing for a marketing push aimed at increasing AUM.
